    I have just come across your details on line because of your work into citizen journalism.

    I am a citizen journalist, who reported in Syria last year (sometimes being the only Western ‘reporter’).

    I am giving a talk in Brisbane at the Square Library on the subject of citizen journalism this Saturday 21st from 1:30pm.Its the final stage of my 4 month tour of Australia and New Zealand. Because of your interest in citizen journalism, I wondered if you would be interested in attending my talk.

    I argue that most people do not understand the power of citizen journalism, so they don’t realise they are diminishing that power and control of the news agenda by using social media sites such as Facebook and YouTube.

    My talks draw on my personal experience of reporting as a citizen journalist and from the two years of research I have carried out on the subject.

  3. Writing a memoir and trying to contact old friends or foes of Eugene (Gene) Janes who was a member of the Journalists Club since 1946 – 1967. He wrote science fiction/detective radio scripts for Macquarie Radio and then paperbacks for Calvert Publishing. Members he drank with were Michael Noonan (who I know has deceased), Dick Lane, James Workman, Ron Ingleby, Don Houghton, Kay Keaveney. He also met up with an old colleague Johnny Sutton whom he worked in the mail room of BBC Radio (UK) during WWII. If anbody can assist with making contact with these gentlemen or knew of Gene Janes or any of the above gentlemen it would be greatly appreciated.
